NBFA Assisting the Elderly is now closed, having formally announced a merger with Contact the Elderly, a fellow charity working with older people across the UK. Following an earlier decision to cease standalone operations, NBFA have merged their remaining funds and assets with Contact the Elderly to help support more older beneficiaries in living sociable and enjoyable lives.

Contact the Elderly is a national charity dedicated to relieving the acute loneliness and isolation of older people aged 75 and over who live alone, without family, friends or other support networks nearby. They meet this need with a simple yet very effective model: free, monthly afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people and volunteers within their community. These bring all ages together, developing fulfilling intergenerational friendships and support networks while giving everyone something to regularly look forward to. Contact the Elderly will be dedicating all funds received from NBFA to accelerating the creation of tea party groups based across the UK. All contacts of NBFA have been signposted towards Contact the Elderly groups in their area and encouraged to consider joining their nearest tea party.
