We are excited to see the final report published by Surrey University of an academic research study which looked at the link between 'social tourism' (equitable access to breaks away from home for disadvantaged people) and well-being in later life, using the experience of some of our participants. There is a great summary here which links to the full report, for avid readers! Because it is so important that the benefits of breaks and holidays are available to all who need them, we also support the campaign Holidays Matter which champions the cause of equal access to holidays for disadvantaged groups including older people.

For the second year running we were delighted to be invited to attend TRIC's annual Charity Lunch to receive their donation of £5,000 towards our work.  The opportunity to talk about our work to a friendly audience is always a pleasure and this audience - with its smattering of professional media presenters (Sandi Toksvig, Kate Garroway and Ainsley Harriott providing the booming laughter) - could have been a bit daunting.  Not a bit of it, they could not have been more welcoming.

Thanks go to Chairman Derek Hollingdale, for choosing to support us once again and to all in the TRIC 'club' whose generosity brought us this terrific gift.
