About Us

The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged was founded to improve the quality of life for older people in the UK who live on a low income.

NBFA does this by providing direct practical assistance through the provision of emergency telephone alarms; TENS pain relief machines as well as organising free holidays.

NBFA is a registered charity which:

  • was founded in 1957 to improve the quality of life for people who live on a low income
  • is independent of government and receives no state grants of any kind for our work
  • is dependent for support on our generous benefactors and donors for fundraising
  • relies heavily on volunteers to provide our services for older people.

NBFA registered charity No 243387
