NBFA Fundraising
The need for our work is clear and growing. The aging population is expanding and the provision of general support services is continually being eroded. We need your help to continue to provide NBFA's services that make a difference to individual lives today
Helping Their Peers
The older people on low incomes who come away with us on our Breaks-Away Holidays help to support their fellows by buying tickets and donating prizes for the raffles which happen on each trip. In this way they are able to make a direct contribution back to the service which has benefitted them.
NBFA National Raffle
A new initiative for us was a Summer Grand Draw. We sent tickets out with our newsletter to all of our supporters. It was a huge success both in terms of funds raised and also in helping to spread the word about the work that we do. We will look to repeat this initiative in the future.
Donation Boxes
The NBFA gives out donation boxes in an ongoing appeal for funds. If you would like a box please ring the office on 0207 828 0200.
Sponsored Runs
An NBFA fundraising run at Bushy Park
The NBFA will have a runner in the Virgin London Marathon 2011. Please contact the Development and Communications Officer on 0207 8280200 if you would like to sponsor them.
Charity Flowers
NBFA receives a donation every time that flowers are ordered from Charity Flowers. With a huge range of beautiful flowers and bouquets, you can both mark that special occasion and help support the work of NBFA for older people.
Call 08705 300 600 or order online at www.charityflowers.co.uk - please quote NBFA.
Printer Cartridge Recycling
NBFA has a relationship with Office Green, the largest company to recycle empty printer cartridges and mobile phones to raise funds for older people.
See www.officegreen.co.uk or call 07800 502050.
Other Ways You Could Fundraise for us
There are many other ways in which you could help us raise funds. Examples include:
- Being sponsored for an event of your choosing
- Running a bingo night or quiz evening
- Organising a social event such as a meal for your friends and then asking them to make a donation
- Making a donation to NBFA as a gift for someone else
One-off donations are of course welcomed at the office at any time, either sent through the post or delivered in person.
If you have any questions about these initiatives, or if you want to suggest a new way of fundraising to us, we would be very happy to hear from you. Please ring the NBFA office on 0207 828 0200 and ask to talk to the Development and Communications Officer.
